Dr. Nour Makarem is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. As a cardiovascular and sleep epidemiologist, her research program is focused on CVD prevention through lifestyle change and promotion of cardiovascular health equity. She conducts both population- and community-based epidemiological studies and clinical trials, and her research program is funded by NHLBI, NIMHD, AHA, and Columbia World Projects. Her work demonstrates key roles for multidimensional sleep and circadian health, behavioral rhythms, and dietary patterns in health preservation and CVD risk modeling.  She currently leads several clinical trials that evaluate multi-level interventions for promoting cardiovascular health and healthy longevity.
