Pamela Pimentel, RN is a semi-retired nurse with 47 years of acute clinical and outpatient nursing and she is the former non-profit CEO for an Orange County CBO that serves low income mothers, babies and families. Since her official retirement, Pamela has been able to devote her energy to advocating for community partnership with academic researchers. She is the Community Research Liaison with the UCI Sue and Bill Grossman School of Nursing and UCI Institute of Clinical Translational Science. Additionally, Pamela is the Chair of the Community Research Consortium at Vanderbilt School of Medicine and the Community Engagement Co-Lead for the UC END DISPARITIES project. Pamela also serves on the Orange County Women’s Health Project Executive Committee and the St. Joseph Hospital of Orange Community Benefit Committee. Among her many awards and honors, Congressman Lou Correa honored Pamela for her contribution to the health and wellbeing of mothers, children, and their families with a Congressional Record, read on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020.
