Dr. Rogers is a clinician-researcher and Associate Professor in Internal Medicine and in Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. She is faculty in the Program in Health Disparities Research, and her research focus is to design, implement, and evaluate pragmatic, patient-centered interventions based in safety net primary care to optimize care quality and improve health outcomes in patients with multiple chronic conditions, including diabetes. These strategies aim to support self-management by considering psychosocial and medical complexity, such as understanding and mitigating patient-perceived treatment burden and social needs, and by utilizing team-based approaches, such as community health worker models of care. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and she practices primary care in an urban federally qualified health center. She also serves as the Associate Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion for the Division of General Internal Medicine.
